Enrollment
Open Enrollment for The 2007-2008 School Year will be held in the Benji's Academy Auditorium August 20 - 24  from
9:30am - 2p.  Please be sure that when you are enrolling your child that you are fully prepared to provide the
following information.

*Under no circumstances can a child under the age of 18 enroll without a
parent or guardian.

New students who desire to enroll in Benji’s Academy must provide the
proper documents as required by Texas Education Agency (TEA) before
enrollment is complete:

  • Birth Certificate and/or Passport; Hospital birth record; Adoption  records or
    any other legal documents that establishes identity.

  • Social Security Card:  If parent fails to provide a copy we, Benji’s Academy shall
    assign a pseudo number to the student.

  • Current Immunization Records including a Current Tuberculosis  (TB) Screening
    done within the past year.

  • Report Card/Transcript from previous school:  Required to properly place a
    student in his/her correct grade level.

  • ARD Documents:  Transfer ARD’s are completed for those students receiving
    Special Education Services in their former schools.  The Transfer ARD is completed
    at the time of enrollment to facilitate the student’s schedule.

  • Withdrawal Documents:  If a student was enrolled in a former school during a
    current school year and transfers to Benji’s Academy, student is not enrolled
    unless this document is provided.

  • Proof of income:  Required for the National School Lunch Program for free and/or
    reduced meals.  Parents are given the packet to complete at the time of
    enrollment.

Parents are notified at the time of registration that enrollment is incomplete until all the
above documents are presented.  Additionally, parents are also notified that upon
enrollment in Benji’s Academy they have thirty (30) days from the date of enrollment to
provide immunization records or proof that the child has begun receiving them as
rapidly as medically feasible.

The student’s entry date is recorded in the PIEMS Data System the first day the student
is physically present.  At which time the student’s records are requested from the prior
school, a cumulative folder is constructed, a school supply list and school uniform order
are completed.  

Teachers are provided a roster of students assigned to their respective classes as well
as the Counselor.

*Please make sure that all information provided to the school is accurate and updated.  
Falsification or misrepresentation of any information provided will lead to an immediate
denial of admission or expulsion once enrolled.
